Disegnare portachiavi per un’azienda come Mandarina può generare possibilità quasi infinite. Si trattava di trovare il mood, la sintonia con persone dalla gestualità semplice e disinvolta che sognano spazi nuovi, piccoli oggetti-soggetti, non apatici, mobili e fluttuanti nel mare delle esistenze possibili. Così ho disegnato il primo portachiavi, Bat Flight, in gomma colorata e una calamita per fissarlo a diversi oggetti metallici della casa con un gesto immediato: alla porta, al frigorifero, al termosifone dell’ingresso, sul bordo del tavolo, alla maniglia.

Designing key rings for a company like Mandarina Duck means opening a wide range of almost endless possibilities. The challenge was to find out the right mood, the harmony with people with a simple and casual attitude. They dream of new spaces and of small objects with their own personality – not apathetic but mobile and clearly distinguishable objects in a vast range of alternatives. That was the concept at the root of my first key ring: Bat Flight is made of coloured rubber and it also contains a magnet to easily and quickly stick the key ring to the many metallic surfaces in your home, such as the door, the fridge, the radiator, the table edge or the handles.
