The objects displayed are a floor lamp, a table with a removable surface, a centerpiece, a nest-like bed for pets. The entire project was developed by mixing and weaving both boat rope and natural fiber, the wicker. This type of processing gives the opportunity to experiment with and create new shapes, colours and textures, and it is fully capable of reflecting the relationship with the environment and nature. We have entrusted a Milan-based Philippine artisan, who was previously producing traditional hand-woven objects of his homeland.

MAOBAO BASKET. The Maobao basket is a woven nest for pets. The handle originates from a wisp of the structure collected on the top. The basket is available in two different versions, in rattan and in boat rope, which is produced by a company based near Milan.

BASKET CENTERPIECE. This centerpiece is the synthesis between a fruit or bread basket and a candlestick. It consists of two main components: the first one is woven and stretches from the container to the second metallic part featuring the base for different types of candle. A candlelit dinner can be necessary if you have run out of all the new dishes of your wedding list.

Basket Centerpiece

Gli oggetti presentati sono una lampada da terra, un tavolino dal piano removibile, un centrotavola, una cuccia nido per animali. Il progetto è basato sull’intreccio di una corda per uso nautico e di fibra naturale, il midollino; di natura sperimentale, prevede l’esplorazione di forme colori e tipologie in relazione con l’ambiente. Abbiamo coinvolto un artigiano residente a Milano con una precedente attività di produzione di oggetti tradizionali intrecciati nel suo paese di origine, le Filippine.

MAOBAO BASKET. È un nido intrecciato per animali domestici. La maniglia è formata da un ciuffo di materiale della struttura raccolto alla sommità. In due versioni, in rattan e in corda nautica, prodotta da un’azienda nelle vicinanze di Milano.

BASKET CENTERPIECE. È un centrotavola sintesi fra il cestino per il pane o per la frutta e il portacandele. È composto da due parti, una intrecciata che sale dal contenitore fino ad accogliere la seconda, in metallo, con la sede adatta a vari tipi di candele. Quando i piatti nuovi della lista nozze non bastano più, una cena a lume di candela può essere utile.
